BOLOGNESE News Roundup 27/9/17

compiled by Melanie Thomas

Entries close for Hitchin & District Canine Society OPEN SHOW on the 28th September at, we have 3 classes and our judge is Laurie Hunt (Setthornes).

We all made the best of a wet day at Richmond Championship show on the 8th of September. Not only did we get wet, we also had to make the best of a really rough inside ring, with long grass, weeds and boggy patches! Our judge was Kari Jarvinen from Finland. Virginia Dowty’s unstoppable Ir Ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo took the BOB and was shortlisted in the Toy group. BB was Tumbril Tantrams And Tiaras At Phendelle, owned and shown by Hilary McArdel, and BP Lafford Hero. Mr & Mrs Mulligan’s brother and sister duo Donocielo Ceasario & Cassia won their classes as did Deana Mee’s import Sweet Thing Dream Lady and Jane Towers boy Enjanicka Midnight Blue. The show a bit cold and dreary, but we kept our spirits up. After the Bolognese judging, the weather cheered up and a few of us stayed to watch the BIS. CLICK HERE for full results from Richmond.

I was not at Darlington on the 17th of September, but can report that Karen Golden’s imported bitch Kaylo Van Het Balgzand (Imp NLD) took the BOB and the puppy Lafford Hero BD and BP. Multi Ch Bolognese Star Audrey At Havanese Stars, owned by Virginia Dowty took the BV spot. Sue & Jacky Johnson’s Biancopale Shining Star won her class and did Sue Johnson’s My Solitaire At Absuron (Imp) & Absuron Imperiale Mars. Our judge for Darlington was Ms S A Smith,  CLICK HERE for full results.

The Bolognese clan, freezing cold at Westbury OPEN SHOW

A few of us went to Westbury & District OPEN SHOW on the 17th of September, it was outside and freezing cold! Jane Towers Hector went BOB and her young puppy Neme BP. The Toy judge was Delia Shepherd (Avantgarde). Figgarony Andromache ‘Candy’ was Best Toy Veteran and it was almost 7pm before I left the showground! Chris Thatcher was there with Monty and Rosa & Caroline Cockwell with Lucca We tried to make the best of it, but to be honest the show could have been better run. I was there from 10am till 7pm and they didn’t even have any chairs!

Hector in the Toy Group at Westbury & District OPEN SHOW

Bolognese had classes in Belfast under MR W BROWNE-COLE and Virginia Dowty made the journey and sent me some news. Ir Ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo was shortlisted again in the group, Lafford Hero was 4th in the Toy Puppy Group & 4th in the Puppy Stakes and Izzy Virginia’s grand daughter was 2nd in the Young Kennel Club Stakes with Otti. Quite a few rosettes to take home, I am guessing! Ir Ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo was RBIS at Mannin Kennel Ass OPEN SHOW on the Isle of Man and Audrey BVIS. Otti was also in Gibraltar for the 2 day Int show where he became a Gibraltar Champion and also an Int Champion.

The next shows are SWKA on the 6th October, good luck everybody in Wales. We can then look forward to Midland Counties on the 28th of October, where I think there should be a good entry under breed specialist and club member Carol Lees.
