BOLOGNESE News Roundup 7/8/17

Leeds was a good show for the breed, with reasonable numbers. Our judge Mr Derfel Owen from London gives CC’s in English Toy Terriers and had not judged Bolognese before. Jane Towers kindly sent some news from the show saying, “The judge was relaxed and absolutely fantastic with the dogs. The sun came out so it was lovely and warm and there was a nice atmosphere around the ring”.

BOB at Leeds went to Ir Ch Little White Wonder Othello Matteo who is co-owned by Virginia Dowty. BB & BV was Multi Ch Bolognese Star Audrey At Havanese Stars who is also owned by Virginia Dowty. BP was Jane Towers Enjanicka Midnight Blue. Full results from Leeds can be found HERE.

Congratulations also to club members Shirley Hewitson with Belstown Cheeky Pumpkin At Moorhey, Jackie Johnson with Biancopale Shining Star, Greta Franklin with Starexpress Mystery Girl and Jane Towers with Tumbril Tennessee Honey who won their classes at LEEDS Championship show.

We appear to have a change of judge at Bournemouth Championship show on the 12th of July. The Bolognese judge is now Stephen Randall Goodwin, where we have 11 entries.

Numbers were looking low for the Bolognese MEET UP in Hotham Park on Sunday 30th, but a few of us met up anyway. We had a lovely picnic with great weather and the dogs had a great time as well. CLICK HERE for full story.

Club member Kathleen Holliday sent news of her youngster Belstown Merlau Black Bird (known as Reggie) winning reserve Best Puppy in show at Wigton & District Limit Show this week, great result for the young Bolognese boy.

Jessie Van Driel in Holland has added an album on her facebook page called ‘Bolognese (or look like) in history’, there are some really interesting pictures of Bolognese and dogs that look very much like them. Jessie said she has enjoyed putting the album together.

Candy & Lily went to the Russian Toy Terrier & Pomeranian Club Toy Fun Day on the 29th of July. For a new breed, there were lots of Russian Toy Terrier there. Sadly it rained, but people loved to get together and talk about their dogs and they had a fun show and some ringcraft training. Looking at the pictures, it’s noticeable how photogenic Bolognese are compared to smaller darker breeds!

The Bolognese Dog Club UK now have over 400 followers on facebook, meaning that lots of people are seeing our posts and news about the breed.

Remember everybody to send in your news and pictures for this feature, we will be reporting on Paignton & Bournemouth shows next time.
