First Dog Show for NEW Dog Club

PRESS RELEASE

First Dog Show for NEW Dog Club

The Bolognese Dog Club UK is having its first EVENT on the 21st May 2016. The Bolognese Dog Club UK is a NEW breed club for the rare Italian breed of dog called the Bolognese. The club EVENT is open to ALL dogs and is a 26 class Companion Dog Show held under licence from The Kennel Club. The show is in aid of The Cinnamon Trust charity. Pet dogs, show dogs, pedigrees and crossbreds young and old will ALL be welcomed on the day.

The venue is Chieveley Village Hall in Chieveley BERKSHIRE. Competitors simply arrive on the day from 10am and enter their chosen classes for just £2 a class. Judging starts at 10.30 for the pedigree classes and 11.30 for the novelty classes. There will be 3 judges, 8 pedigree classes, 4 Handling Classes and 11 Novelty Classes to provide something for everybody. Tony Bray is the pedigree judge, Vera Harcourt-Morris the handling judge and Daphne Fielding will be judging the novelty classes.

This will be the first Companion Dog show to schedule Bolognese and Havanese classes, by permission of The Kennel Club. There will be an Open Dog Bolognese class and an Open Bitch Bolognese class. The club has scheduled a breed specific Havanese class due to a friendly association between the 2 breeds. Rosettes will be issued to 5th place, with goodie bags and ‘SPECIAL’ awards. Premium pet food manufacturer Royal Canin is sponsoring the show, with vouchers for FREE food going to the well deserved winners. There will also be a big raffle with plenty of goodies to be won for the dogs and their owners!

The Bolognese is a distinctive small toy breed of dog with a long white flocked coat and dark round eyes The Havanese is a similar sized toy breed with various colours of coat. There will be lots of fun novelty classes such as a BEST HAIR CUT class for dogs who have visited the grooming parlour recently,  BEST TRICK for dogs who can do a turn for a crowd, FANCY DRESS and even BEST MALE HANDLER for the ‘doggy dads’ to have a go for a laugh. An enjoyable family day is the expectation.

The Bolognese Dog Club UK was formed in August 2015 by a small group of like minded enthusiasts. The club was developed to bring Bolognese lovers together to share experiences and knowledge and to feel part of a friendly and supportive group. The club website has quickly become a valuable resource centre for the breed, bringing news and information to dog lovers in the UK and abroad. The club publishes a fast moving Bolognese Blog full of news and views with lots of member contribution. A member’s directory contains a personal profile for each member with pictures and information on their dogs. The Bolognese Dog Club UK is a very up to the minute club with links to social media.

The nominated charity for the show is The Cinnamon Trust, the only specialist national charity for people in their last years and their much loved and much needed companion animals. A network of 15,000 volunteers ‘hold hands’ with owners to provide vital loving care for their pets. For example volunteers walk a dog every day for a housebound owner and the charity fosters pets when owners need hospital care.
