4-year Anniversary for Our Club
We are so pleased to report that we have now past the 4-year anniversary of starting the Bolognese Dog Club UK. Originally the idea was to share advice on caring for the breed, but things have evolved to include a membership currently running at 113, lots of interaction, shows and MEET UPS, regular newsletters, show news reports, EVENTS calendar, competitions, club merchandise, a Year Book & fabulous calendar. Members have benefitted from winning some lovely and sometimes valuable raffle prizes over the last few years. The Bolognese Dog Club UK has grown beyond our expectations and moved into areas that we could never imagined 4-years ago. Remember to load pictures and text to your personal profile, there are spot prizes awarded for those who keep their profiles fresh!
The club website has been a major part of the development of the club as we are able to post items quickly and share them on the Facebook page. Members can also post items on the website and comment on other posts. We can tell from the website statistics that hundreds of people in the UK and overseas are reading the content we have provided. Remember that the website is a huge database of information, we suggest that you use the search facility (small magnifying class top right of the navigation bar) to look up subject you are interested in and then all related pieces will come up. As time goes by more and more information will be held and not all will be visible, unless you search.
It’s great that we have been able to be a social club. People have met through the club and become lasting friends. Please, if you are a breeder recommend the club to your new puppy owners, you can print off the application form from the download area of the website Application Form. We are also pleased that overseas enthusiasts have joined, including members from as far as Australia!
We have already produced 2 end of year NEWS ROUNDS covering 12-months club activity as well as new content from our members. For the 2019 NEWS ROUND we would like to include more Members Stories, Top Tips, Dog & Bitch Profiles and general articles of interest from our members. So please let us know if you would like to provide content and we will help you to put it together.
The 2019 Club Calendar was our first one and it was a tremendous success. All pictures in the calendar were of members’ dogs and it is a gorgeous calendar to be enjoyed for the whole year. We are now asking for pictures for the 2020 Bolognese Dog Club Calendar, for printing in November.
We have always had an ongoing issue of needing help to run the club. Help is needed to run events, to set up new projects and with general and ongoing administration tasks. If you are able to spare some time, or could join our committee, please let us know. Although we have not applied to be a Kennel Club registered club, we are the biggest and most active club for Bolognese in the UK. We are always open to working with the official club on health and welfare issues and promoting events.
It’s brilliant to be moving into our 5th year, keeping everything going and hoping that new projects will evolve. Most people’s subscriptions will be due again in January. Thanks everybody for your support!
