Lovely September Day for Midlands MEET UP

We held the postponed Midlands MEET UP at The Fleur De Lys near Henley-in-Arden on Sunday the 25th of September 2022. As it was the end of September, we were a bit worried about the weather, but luckily it was a lovely sunny dry September day in a gorgeous setting by the Stratford Canal. Also, as the date was later, the pub was not so busy so all worked out well in the end. For one reason and another, the group was smaller than previous years, but dogs and guests all got on well making for a lovely few hours chatting, walking and eating.

Tracy Rock was one of the hosts saying, “although there was only a few of us we had a lovely day. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t too busy. Anne & Libby came all the way from Bolton with Rosa, so we wanted to ensure they had a good day. We all had lunch, whilst the dogs got to know each other. We had the opportunity to discuss looking after the Bolognese fur and the use of detangle spray and using the right comb. Rosa got pick of the prizes. We then went on a walk alongside the canal and had many photo opportunities. A good day was had by all”.

Diane & Mark Whateley were also hosts at this event choosing the pub for us a few years ago. Diane said, “having a smaller number meant we could all sit round one table. The food was good, as always. All 5 dogs got on quite well together and the humans had a lovely chat. Tracy had brought along some biscuits but we were all too full after our meal. We had an enjoyable walk along the canal, stopping for more pictures by a lock where we got the dogs to stand on a lock gate. After our walk we headed back to the pub for another drink before disbanding”.

Tracy & her partner Nick were accompanied by their 2 Bolognese Marco & Archie who are litter brothers. Mark & Diane took their oldest girl Bella and their youngest boy Enzo and Libby brought her girl Rosa.
