South Eastern Toy OPEN Show April 2025

As this show is reasonably near and I had confidence in our judge Peter Young, I went along with Harry. It was Easter Sunday. I knew I would meet Mark & Diane Whateley there, but was surprised to see Paul & Jacky Fuller as well. Paul & Jacky brought Purdey & Missy, but just showed Purdey. The venue AGRICULTURAL HALL Barker Road, Maidstone is easy to get to, easy to park and at the toy shows not at all busy. It was lovely to see Paul & Jacky as they haven’t been able to get to shows for 5-years, but they plan to do more now at this venue as they only live a few miles way.

Harry was 2nd in Open, Lyckalotte Enzo Ferrari at Arkadian went BOB and Akadian Alfredo Ferrari (Dino) RBOB. Diane told me later that Enzo was reserve in Membership Stakes winning £10 and Dino 2nd in Open Stakes and won £3, so they are quids in!

We were second in the ring, so I was home by lunchtime and able to enjoy the rest of Easter Sunday with my other dog Lily. I didn’t enter the raffle as it was all chocolate which I’m trying to give up!

I’ve been going to this show for many years and entries are always low (as with many Open Shows now). I’ve been the only exhibitor at the show on more than one occasion, but this year at least I had company.
