London 2026 MEET UP
It was great to see everybody in the lovely Greenwich Park on the 13th September 2026. Many of the same people have been meeting in London for a good few years now, so we have become friends. I met at Michael & Laura’s flat and walked in with Harry and his brother (from a different litter) Rory. When I arrived EVERYBODY was already there and chatting away. The Irvine Family, Paul, Neelu and son Khush had Mini & Gianna with them, Gianna is now 15-years old and doing well, bless her. Douglas came all the way from Norfolk with his girl Julie as he loves meeting up with Bolognese people so much. Donna & Andrew are another regular guest with their lovely girl Rosie and so are John, Karen, their daughter Katrina and Bolognese Bella. All the dogs got on well, even Harry & Rory who are both un neutered males with a tendency to try to put each other in their place. I had to leave Lily my 15-year old at home as she hadnt been that well for a few days. This was a shame as Lily loves meeting in Greenwich Park, her tail starts wagging as soon as she gets out of the car.
In the morning I was a bit worried about rain, but as the cafe is dog friendly, we could of met inside. Actually when we first arrived it was mild, cloudy and dry, perfect for the dogs. We set out all the raffle prizes and it started to rain, but we sheltered in a covered area and Katrina drew the tickets and called the numbers. I found (on Amazon) a lovely keyring with a Bichon (Bolognese look a like) on it, a colorful tote bag (with dogs on it) and a plaque with tender words about dogs for the raffle. I added treats and food items, so everybody won a raffle prize. The rain stopped and Neelu asked in the cafe for some judges. Alex & Favour from the cafe came out and chose Best Girl (Julie), Best Boy (Harry), Best Veteran (Mini) and Best Trick (Bella). The judges were lovely, really good and took the job seriously. It was lovely to watch people smiling whilst watching the dogs line up to be judged, again there were more winners prizes.
We packed up and headed for a walk in the park. Sadly light rain started to fall, so we sheltered under some trees and played eye-spy, which was fun. The rain didn’t last too long, so we could leave the shelter of the trees and head off again. We stopped at the band stand for some more pictures. Greenwich Park is such a lovely part of London and the people are friendly too. Thanks to everybody for coming and for those who helped out with the raffle and the organization. Harry and I got home to Hasting safely and in good time for a restful evening. We were able to reflect on a lovely few hours spent with much loved Bolognese and their caring owners.
