1-year Birthday For Vito
Arkadian Ferrari Vittorio has celebrated his first birthday. We never anticipated keeping two puppies but after hand-rearing Vito from day one it was impossible to let him go. He weighed only 65g, was on antibiotics from the start, getting pushed out by his bigger siblings and wouldn’t latch on so wasn’t getting any milk from Holly. Diane hand fed him every hour, slowly extending the time between feeds. By 2 weeks he still hadn’t put much weight on. However, he had a tremendous strength of character and determination to survive so he slowly started to grow into his big ears and paws. When it came to naming him, Vito, meaning life in Italian was very apt. Vittorio also satisfied Mark’s criteria of being a Ferrari car. One judge said he has ‘fire in his belly’ – he certainly plays Diane up in the ring.
